Eric was the first chair All-State trombonist for the state of Texas 1997-1998 school year. He received a full scholarship to Baylor University where he received his Bachelor's Degree in Trombone Performance. Then was awarded a full scholarship to attend the University of Michigan and received a Master's degree in Trombone Performance.
